I had a secret commission to fulfil last week. A couple of months ago, my Granddaughter asked if she could special request a yellow Nana elephant as her birthday gift this year ... and of course, I wasn't ever going to refuse.
Izzy gave her elephant design great consideration and decided she would like a yellow elephant with 'lilac bits', so that is exactly the elephant I have made to celebrate my lovely Granddaughter's special day today. I have called this elephant 'Honeysuckle' as a working title, but will of course give Izzy free reign to name her own elephant. Time will tell whether she stays as 'Honeysuckle', or is given a jazzy new name..
Whatever the name, I know this elephant will be loved and well cared for, for many years to come, by a little girl who has the kindest and most protective heart. Izzy is full of fun, creativity and determination and lights up wherever she happens to be, a joy to be with. I love my time with both my Grandchildren and am very touched to have been asked to make this special handmade gift to celebrate my granddaughter's 8th birthday today!
Happy Birthday to you my Iz,
With loads of love, always and forever.
Nana xxx
