Nominated!

How exciting!

Do you remember me telling you I was going to try to take part in some competitions this year? Well, I took the bull by the horns and quietly entered my new clown design 'Billy Buttons' in the 'Teddy Bear Scene' magazine's 'Readers' Choice Awards' and then held my breath until ... ta da! I have just learned that BB has received a nomination in the 'Bare Bears' category!

I can't tell you how chuffed I am!

All the nominees, five in each category, are currently featured in the September issue of the TBS magazine www.teddybearscene.co.uk and voting for the overall winners is by public vote, so if you would like to place your vote, please purchase a copy of the September TBS!

We will find out each category winner in a month or two. In the meantime, I'm on cloud nine!

  1. Congratulations Paula! It was lovely looking through your blog and seeing all your gorgeous bears. It does make me very sad that I lost my bear making mojo though, something that I thought would never happen to me. Oh well, hopefully my new mojo lies in art quilts!
    Hugs,
    Sindie.

  2. This is wonderful news!

ANd let me be the first to say how happy I am that he is just a bear, and not a bear dressed as another thing. (tbdoa.blogspot.com)

Thank you for being a purist.

  3. Thank you both so much!

Sindie, I'm sad that your mojo went walkabout, but whatever catches your imagination will be a success, so yes, art quilts sound wonderful! I will look forward to seeing some of your creations because I know they will be full of colour and excitement!

Spinning Girl, it's a pleasure to hear from you and I'm so pleased you appreciate my bear for his purity of teddy bear design ... I love to see what I can do with the true teddy bear concept and try hard to stay within that framework when I design.

  4. Big hugs of congrats Paula! All the best with the voting too!

I think I've sadly missed out on being nominated with Cottontail my rabbit for the Furry Friends category, but there's always next year.

    Beary hugs, Sarah (Sarah's Bruins)

  5. Thanks for your kind support Sarah .. it's very generous of you. As you say, there's always next year, so please don't be despondent! I know how you feel about Cottontail because my URSA entry didn't make the finals ... sob! ;o)
