Sign 'o the times
Very sad to learn Teddy Bear Times magazine ceased publication in 2026. It was the last of our specialist teddy bear collectors' magazines here in the UK, published initially monthly and then bi-monthly. It has been supporting the world of teddy bear artistry and collecting since 1990, not only through its printed pages but also by hosting 'The British Bear Artist Awards', a prestigious artist bear competition, held each year for a good number of years and definitely responsible for launching my bears into the public domain in the mid 1990's.
I am very grateful to various editors for including my bear creations in TBT's pages during my thirty years as a teddy bear maker. It was always such a thrill to visit a High Street shop to pick up a copy in town, or hear the thud of the magazine as it plopped through my letterbox. A sign of our changing now digital times perhaps but such a sad loss to our bear world.
