Elephant steps ...

How pleased was I to receive the latest issue of 'Australian Bear Creations' magazine just before Christmas, only to discover my very first fully jointed elephant 'Delilah'  had been featured in the 'African Safari' article!  My first ever non-teddy bear design to be published!

Delilah was my first attempt at a 16" ellie and I was so pleased with her when I finished her.  She found a lovely new home in the US last autumn and since then, you may recall I made 'Starlight', my second jointed elephant, created as part of my 'Magical Mayhem' 2009 collection.

I have no idea if Starlight could be the kind of creation to catch the eye of a competition judge or two, but as we are now entering the international bear crafting competition season once more, I thought I'd offer this dear little elephant up for scrutiny in the 'friends' category ... so please, keep your fingers crossed for us!

suspected there might be an unwelcome chance the gremlins might snag my 'Magical Mayhem' webpages, but no, the webshow uploaded with ease and worked smoothly - in fact Saturday's show went exceedingly well ... but Sunday's?  Oh dear.  I hadn't banked on AOL meddling with my internet connection on the last day of my show!  There was nothing I could do but wait until this morning to close the showroom and tidy up.  Never mind, the Mayhem show was such fun and a lovely success with all of the new bears and Hatty Halfwitch finding new homes ... in fact, queues formed for some of the bears!  I still have my lovely ivory ellie 'Starlight' to find a caring new home, but that's fine by me, because as you know I love ellies and Starlight is one gorgeous slumpy cuddle of an elephant!

Well, that's Halloween done and dusted, I guess it's Christmas next!

3/11/09 Starlight update:  I am delighted to report Starlight has now been adopted and will soon be heading across the Atlantic to meet her new owner!

Magical Mayhem peekaboo!

It's so close to Halloween and I'm still working hard to finish bears for my mini 'Magical Mayhem' show which I promised would take place over All Hallowes weekend.  To be honest, I would have preferred to have one or two more bears in the pipeline, but never mind, the select few I have created so far are pretty magical, even if I do say so myself! 

I hope these peeks whet your appetite for a spooktacular weekend!

I have decided to put together another ALL BEAR webshow this year!

I'm calling it my 'MAGICAL MAYHEM' show because it will take place over Halloween weekend. 

I can't wait to get starting on conjuring up some fun new show bears ... in fact, I'd better put on my witch's hat right now and start stirring my teddy bear cauldron!
